Mayarakat Perlindungan Indikasi Geografis (MPIG) – Geographical Indication Protection Society(en) is a unit of producers and business actors who represent each geographical area to be able to maintain the identity, quality, and production standards, as well as ensure the absence of potential abuse of products that have received Geographical Indication protection.

Masyarakat Perlindungan Indikasi Geografis (MPIG) Kopi Arabika Flores Manggarai The Manggarai Arabica Flores Coffee Geographical Indication Protection Society was formed in 2015 to accommodate coffee farmers in the Greater Manggarai area to improve coffee productivity and quality in order to produce quality coffee commodities, competitive and able to provide good economic value for coffee farmers. MPIGKAF consistently develops and fights for Flores Manggarai Arabica coffee to be increasingly recognised and favoured by the wider community, both at home and abroad.

Environments

KAFM is located in the centre of Flores Island with coordinates between 120°17.760 ‘East – 120°45.517 “East and 08°33.127 ”N – 08°41.760 ’N. Regional Boundaries

Arabica Flores Manggarai coffee can only be obtained from red gelondong coffee originating from the highland areas of Manggarai Regency, West Manggarai Regency and East Manggarai Regency, as shown on the map. All of these areas are located between 900 m above sea level and 1,500 m above sea level.
